Angelina Jolie in Girl Interrupted

Girl Interrupted is a 1999 film drama starring Angelina Jolie, Winona Ryder, Brittany Murphy and Whoopi Goldberg. It was adapted from the original memoir of the same name, written by Susanna Kaysen. It was supposed to be Winona Ryder's big comeback but Angelina totally overshined her, earning an Academy Award and a Golden Globe Award for best supporting actress.

Aileen Wuornos was an American serial killer who killed seven men i Florida between 1989 and 1990, later claiming they raped or attended to rape her while she was working as a prostitute. She was convicted and sentenced to death for six of the seven murders, and executed via lethal injection on October 9, 2002.

Her victims were Richard Mallory, Dick Humphreys, David Spears, Charles Carskaddon, Peter Siems, Troy Burress and Walter Antonio.

Aileens mother was 15 when she married Aileen's father who was a child molester who spent most of his life in and out of prison as he was imprisoned for rape and attempted murder of a seven year old girl around the time Aileen was born. He hanged himself in prison in 1969.

In 1960 Aileen abandoned Aileen and her brother, Keith, leaving them with their grandparents.

She randomly had sex with neighbourhood boys, including her own brother, in exchange for money and cigarettes. At 13, Aileen became pregnant, gave birth to a baby boy, but the child was immediately giving away for adoption with her permission.

At the age og 15 her grandfather threw her out of the house and she begang working as a prostitute.

Around 1986 she met Tyria Moore, apparently the love of her life. They moved in together and Aileen supproted them both with her prostitute earnings. Tyria and Aileen abandoned Peter Siems' car after being involved in an accident in 1990 after which Aileen's palm print was found. In january 1991 Aileen was arrested. Tyria returned to Florida with the police and was put in a motel. There she made several phonecalls to Aileen pleading for help in clearing her name. Three days later Aileen confessed to the murders.

During her trial psychiatrist for the defence claimed that Aileen was mentally unstable and had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder.

She was sentenced to death in january 1992 with help from Tyria's testimony, and after spending 10 years on death row she was finally put to death by leathal injection.

Actress Charlize Theron won an oscar for her portrail of Aileen in the movie Monster from 2003 directed by Patty Jenkis on the day that Aileen woud have turned 48.

Chosen work from photographer Sally Mann

Sally Mann is an American photographer who is best known for her black and white photos of her children,'Immediate Family', and for the collection 'What Remains'.

Sally Mann is one of few photografphers who still doesn't use digital photography. She uses old techniques and lenses which adds an old fashioned look to the portraits and gives the viewer the feeling that the photographs are of another world. A fairytale kind of world.

What I love about these portraits is that they are somewhat controversial. They provoke me in a sense and I like that. The beautiful children posing as adults and the landscapes around them look absolutely amazing..
